A)
1.
There is an image of ourselves projected on a
mirror.
2.
This same image is reflected back into our mind.
3.
The image in the mirror does not exist without
ourselves, but we can neither perceive ourselves without the image.
4.
This double process of projection and reflection
is necessary so that we understand ourselves:
5.
An object projects its own image onto a
reflective surface in space, while the image is reflected back into the object,
so that the object realizes its own existence.
6.
This object can in fact be consciousness itself:
7.
Our consciousness projects the images of objects
from one end of its boundary onto the opposite end.
8.
Then the image of the object is reflected back
into our consciousness, so that the contents of our consciousness (the images
of objects) become real objects (composing the external world).
9.
Incidentally the existence of an ‘external’
world is not necessary at all:
10. On
one hand, everything we know about is found inside the universe.
11. On
the other hand, in order for us to know about the existence of things, our
consciousness has to participate.
12. Now
instead of assuming our own consciousness, we can suppose a Universal
Consciousness, of which our own consciousness is part.
13. Thus
Consciousness can be identified with a Mirror which vibrates, projecting its
contents as images of objects, and reflecting the same images as real objects,
on either side.
14. Another
synonym of Consciousness can be the Form.
B)
“Without beginning, without end,
Without past, without future.
A halo of light surrounds the world
of the law.
We forget one another, quiet and
pure, altogether powerful and empty.
The emptiness is irradiated by the
light of the heart and of heaven.
The water of the sea is smooth and
mirrors the moon in its surface.
The clouds disappear in blue space;
the mountains shine clear.
Consciousness reverts to
contemplation; the moon disk rests alone.” [1]
C)
- Consciousness reverts to Consciousness.
The Form reflects the Form.-
