Attraction-
1. It is a longsome, strong and strange force:
- It is
longsome because it covers all space.
- It is
strong because it forms the bond of love.
- It is also
strange as the lovers say they have never felt like this before.
(But then they act as if they will never meet again.)
The hunter
2. But it is more like the hunter
and the prey. It is a game which surpasses by far the instinct of survival. We
always enjoy to hear our victim beg and pray, to bring our subject down to its
knees. It is not that we suffer from some kind of disorder or that we are
predisposed with incurable perversity. It is just the way nature works, as we
always fill up hunger with some pleasure. It’s like playing a game of cat and mouse, thus the meaning
of the name.
The forest
3. The forest is always thick and
shadowy, as we have to avoid the huge trunks which impose their stature
against our fragile silhouettes. It represents the landscape which may
offer us the ultimate protection- against all those haunting memories which
come about like nocturnal birds lurking behind the branches. Nobody’s
chasing us, we are just the hunters and the victims of ourselves- once again
finding ourselves in remote and unbearable emptiness. The trunks stand out against
our own presence.
The wall
4. But at the same time the trunks
support our thoughts, our beliefs, our whole foundation. No matter if they are
made of wood or bricks, they can always be dissolved into the fundamental
particles which constitute those imperceptible aspects of our true existence-
naked, without the hunter’s uniform or the lover’s pretentious and
unpredicted moves. The gun the hunter holds will never go off- it is not meant
to kill, it’s worn just as a complement to all those threats and gestures, and
the rest of vile puns and despicable maneuvers. All the things which make us so
susceptible to love.
The force of gravity
5. Ah! Now back to the classroom…
Yes, it’s a force and it consists of particles, the same with those in the human
body, fluctuating with similar vibrations as those corresponding to the
emotions of the human soul, also to the frequencies at which the human mind
performs and composes the background of our tremendous thoughts. It is a force inversely
proportional to the square of the distance- but has that yet explained the
secret action of all the things we long for?
Superposition
6. Now let’s make a step forward to take a look at the other side behind the wall. As we have already suspected
there is no fundamental difference at the smallest, intimate, scale between the
hunter’s feelings and the victim’s trembling heart, as they are both entangled in
the cosmic chase, with the fine- tuning between the object and the mind, hunger
and lust, love and gravity (the haunted and the ghost), whether the circle is
formed inside a lake or a bedroom, or if the circle incorporates the whole
universe, as it revolves, again and again, around the same meaning-
The hunter’s hand will penetrate us
It will rip apart our body
Purifying our thought
Leaving our heart transparent
Transferring us to another world
Having us utter a melodic sound
Making us spell the magic word
Often cited by the learned people
But unspeakable and unheard of
Only accessible to native speakers.
