1. When we think of something, our mind shifts a little bit.
2. As the object of thought comes forward in space, our mind is displaced backward.
3. This process is similar to a gun shooting a bullet. As the gun fires it kicks back, while the bullet moves forward.
4. Imagine a person in a dark chamber. This person projects images on a wall of the chamber. Imagine a cone of light forming from his projecting apparatus toward the wall, where a picture is formed.
5. Imagine that this picture depicts the thought of the person. Thus the person studies the properties of his own thought on the wall.
6. This projection operation is necessary so that we are able to reflect on our own thought. Without it the contents of our mind cannot be visible.
7. We can identify the dark chamber with our own mind. The images which our mind produces, or which are produced as contents of the outside world, constitute everything we know about the world, as we live inside that dark chamber.
8. The image of an object is projected on the surface of our mind, while that image is reflected back into our mind, and it is realized.
9. Our own mind shifts a little by this process. As the image of the object enters our mind like a bullet coming from outer space and from the future, our mind backfires in its inner space and towards the past.
10. The inner space of our mind and the past is all the spacetime we are aware of, while the here and now is just a thin layer stretching in between the outside and the inside, or the future and the past.
11. Such a process during which consciousness is displaced can also be physically demonstrated by the so called Lens- Thirring (or frame- dragging) effect. The rotation of a massive object distorts the space-time metric, making the orbit of a nearby test particle precess. [1]
12. The same effect may also take place inside rotating empty shells. In such a case the effect is perceived as a Coriolis force exerted on some object inside the shell. Moreover the shell can be massless, since the ‘mass’ can be equivalent to the rotational energy of the shell.
13. Thus what truly causes the displacement (i.e. precession) is an imaginary (rotating) sphere, which can be either the whole universe or our own mind.
14. Whatever the mechanism of that phenomenon might be, the point is that both the observer stationed inside the rotating shell and the shell itself are parts of the effect. Thus the shell always includes and describes the limits of the observer’s mind.
15. If such a shell represents the sphere of consciousness with all its contents, as soon as a content is realized, consciousness is displaced or spins a little bit, while we can just feel the drag of such motion.
16. But the whole process is carrying us forward into the future. With each realization we make, consciousness expands its field of knowledge, while the whole universe changes slowly but irreversibly.

The Projection produces two actions, one manifested as a real object moving ‘forward,’ and another one corresponding to the ‘image’ of the object, or the psychic content related to the same object, moving ‘backward.’ The two ‘forces’ are equal and cancel out. In the second figure the process is a-symmetrical. The two forces are not equal so that there is a net difference representing the displacement or emergence of Consciousness, directed towards the ‘real’ or manifested world. Although the whole process is simultaneous, thus acausal, we perceive it in a causal manner because the mind always emerges in the manifested (the physical) world, thus it moves in the same direction with space and time.
The previous operation is spontaneous in the sense that it rises on its own in the universe. It also brakes the symmetry because it produces a real effect (an object perceived by the mind and the senses to be found in the outside world). The term ‘a-symmetrical’ (in contrast to ‘non-symmetrical’) refers to a process which preserves the symmetry by transposing it to a higher level a.”
