1. We
all live inside a prison behind bars
2. We
take a look outside at the sea
3. We
wonder if we’ll ever walk again on that beach
4. We raise our eyes to the sky
5. We
imagine some birds which are flying by
6. Our
thoughts are haunted by our harsh destiny
7. Having
been born on this desolate planet
8. But
have we ever taken any risk in our life?
9. Faced
thus with the heavy burden of our mind
10. We
withdraw ourselves into our lonely residence
11. Asking
in our prayers God for mercy
12. Wishing
that something will change in the future
13. As
we are all prisoners of hope and slaves of habit
14. So
who has chained us up and put us behind bars?
15. Since
everything we want is for our own sake?
16. If
our own self is the only one we trust?
17. If
we contemplated our freedom for a while
18. So
that we could escape from conventionality
19. Having
no need to steal for profit or for luxury
20. Nor
to become celebrities to find immortality
21. Then
we could be the heroes in our own drama
22. Never
having to commit again the same crime.
